WebJan 30, 2013 · In this work, liquid chromatography coupled to electrospray time-of-flight mass spectrometry (LC-ESI-TOF-MS) has been applied to screen bioactive metabolites in shoot extract of the medicinal halophyte Zygophyllum album. Among 10 compounds identified (saponins, flavonoids and sterols) five were reported for the first time in Z. album. WebIn this study, luteolin was reacted in hot water with five trace metal elements found in plants, and the products were tested by electrospray-ionization time-of-flight mass spectrometry (ESI-TOF MS). Luteolin formed complexes with Ca 2+ , Mg 2+ , and Zn 2+ in both 2:1 and 3:1 ratios, in addition to a complex with Cu 2+ in a 2:1 ratio.
