WebMay 28, 2024 · My chosen subject is the venerable Vought AU-1 (F4U-6) Corsair by Hasegawa (which has been in my stash for over 10 years). This particular kit, the USN 'Reserve' variant of the AU-1 I intend to alter to a USMC version. It had seen action as a ground attack aircraft during the Korean War. WebThe Kit This is the now venerable - and out-dated - Hasegawa 1/72 F4U-1D Corsair. At the time I started it, though, it was considered state of the art. It has raised panel lines and actually decent detail, but it wasn't enough for me. So, I used the True Details cockpit, wheels and vacuformed canopy/windscreen.
