If it wont idle off the choke then you have plugged idle passages, non of your mods will cause a large enough difference in jetting that it shouldn'e at least try to idle. Hanging rpms can be from lean/vacuum leaks, carb sync off, binding cables, ignition advancer sticking/hanging up.

WebMay 16, 2012 · I agree that for the 1977-1978 CB750 the best choice IS the stock air filter and air box because it incorporates velocity stacks and engine protection. It just looks ugly. If there was a good remedy and EXACT jetting specifications for pods or stacks for the 1977-1978 CB750 it would all ready be on the internet. I doubt if you will ever find it.

Unfortunately, you will have to put in the work with adjusting jets. Pods open up your intake. I'm guessing you'll change or already changed the exhaust. I sandblasted and repainted everything, as well as replaced the wiring harness. I cleaned and rebuilt the carbs and reset the floats.
